The photographs were taken for an exhibition titled Jan Szpakowicz. Elementary Space; its curators were Alexandra Czupkiewicz and Łukasz Wojciechowski. The opening of the exhibition took place on February 5th 2021 in the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław.

The exhibition was accompanied by the publishing of a book under the same title.
